There is a popular social media post doing the rounds that says "You Choose Your Hard." It then goes on to describe the ways that this is true, things like, exercise is hard but so is a heart attack, choose your hard, being financially disciplined is hard, being in debt is hard, choose your hard.

I woke up this morning with a song stuck in my head. More accurately I woke up with a couple of lines of the song running over and over in my head on repeat like a toddler asking why. The song was I'm so blessed by Cain and to be honest, it's not my type of song.

You close your eyes on December 31st and wake up on January 1st and it's the ultimate reset. New year, a new beginning, a new start. But what happens when you wake up and it's the opposite of the reset button? It's not a shiny new year, it's more of the same hard that you were walking through at the end of the last one.
